Freeze Dry Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Freeze Dry Operations Specialist to join our team at North Freeze Dry LLC in Little Falls, MN.
Estimated Salary:$45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities- Support and back up freeze dry operators in the production process, ensuring adherence to operational manuals and quality criteria.
- Inspect raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to guarantee compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of units produced, errors, and rejected/discharged materials.
- Perform pre-operational equipment checks, preventative maintenance tasks, and process inspections to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct quality and sanitation functions according to the Quality Program and Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Collaborate with shift supervisors and managers to address maintenance and quality opportunities.
- Interface with our plant ERP system to manage inventory control, lot traceability, and tracking.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Support freeze dry operators by performing mechanical and manual tasks, learning their role, and providing backup during peak periods.
- Assist with loading and unloading auto-panners, freeze dryers, and combo fillers, as well as supporting operators with various tasks.
- Operate all equipment associated with the freeze dry process, including freeze dryers, combo filling machines, and auto-panners.
- Perform tray washing operations and sanitation tasks on the post-pasteurization side.
- Responsible for housekeeping of drying machines and the plant area, including sweeping, removing trash, and preparing for next shifts.
- Accurately complete paperwork during shifts.
- Utilize the ERP system for moving in-process materials and products into and out of inventory.
- Foster a food-safe and sanitary environment by following quality guidelines and Master Sanitation Schedules.
- Provide support to other lines and processes as needed to maximize plant efficiency.
- Dispose of waste materials and operate forklifts as required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior working experience in a manufacturing/production facility is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to follow proper food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification is preferred, but willingness to obtain it is also acceptable.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and accommodate change.
North Freeze Dry LLC is a U.S.-based co-manufacturer specializing in freeze-dried companion animal food and treats. Our Little Falls, MN facility is one of the largest and most integrated freeze-drying co-manufacturing facilities in the industry.
