We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Charge Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team at HCA Florida JFK Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during your designated shift.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Charge Nurse RN Med Surg, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
- Participating in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Supporting a patient-first philosophy and engaging in service recovery when necessary.
- Supporting the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Providing recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assisting with staff scheduling and managing all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Supporting proper inventory control and assisting with managing supplies and equipment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- A current State of Florida Registered RN License or recognized compact licensure.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- A minimum of one year acute care hospital Medical/Surgical RN experience.
- Charge Nurse experience is preferred.
