We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Technician to join our team at NomadPower. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering engineered solutions and undertaking tasks related to our electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide engineering support for field testing, analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of our transportable power systems.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain our transportable power systems, including battery energy storage systems.
- Support FAT testing on equipment to validate adherence to system requirements.
- Assist with the development of maintenance, service, and troubleshooting procedures and records.
- Follow safety procedures and report any safety concerns to the Fleet Manager and Director of Engineering.
- Stay current with our product offerings, component specifications, system design, and engineering technology.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, including testing electrical devices and providing on-spot solutions.
- Use tools such as voltmeters, megohmmeters, and ohmmeters to detect issues.
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on our systems and discuss potential hazards with the safety team and management.
- Install safety components and connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks.
- Follow electrical codes, blueprints, and standards for ultimate efficiency and safety.
- Document all actions, including testing results and steps taken to resolve issues.
- Vermont Journeyman or Master electrical license is preferred but not required.
- Preferred three years of experience working in commercial or industrial electrical.
- A firm grasp of high and low voltage electrical systems and devices; experience with controller-based software and products is helpful.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
- Knowledge of different electrical systems, devices, blueprints, and power generation with the ability to inspect, diagnose, fix, and offer solutions.
- Ability to use electrical and hand tools and read electrical documents and blueprints.
- Understanding of safety procedures and legal codes and guidelines.
- Must have strong computer skills and capable of learning basic controls software.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to travel frequently, 25-50% average.
- Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and co-workers orally and in writing.
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device.
- Good manual dexterity is required to use computers, mobile devices, and other productivity technologies.
- Some heavy lifting is expected; occasional exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force may be required.
- Good manual dexterity is required for troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
- The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office environment.
- Secondary job requirements include travel with fieldwork which can consist of electrical equipment setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Extended periods of standing may be required.
