As a key member of the University Medical Center of El Paso team, the Nurse Coordinator - Service Line will provide critical support to the Department and Nurse Managers in managing the operational aspects of specialized areas of practice within the Operating Room. This role will be responsible for managing the service line surgery schedule, ordering and maintaining inventory, and updating OR/Hospital protocols related to surgery. Additionally, the Nurse Coordinator will report quality data as needed and provide clinical patient care to patients utilizing the nursing process.
Responsibilities- Manage service line surgery schedule to ensure efficient use of resources
- Order and maintain inventory related to the Service Line
- Update OR/Hospital protocols related to surgery
- Report quality data as needed
- Provide clinical patient care to patients utilizing the nursing process
- One year of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a hospital-based acute care setting
- Current TX/Compact RN License required
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing required
- Meets unit-specific education requirements as per Policy NC-A-7.4
- Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions
