The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for delivering direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) or other licensed medical personnel.

The CNA performs a range of personalized patient care tasks and related non-professional services essential for addressing the personal needs and comfort of patients.


Key Responsibilities:
Ensures patient confidentiality for all clients

Executes assigned duties within the scope of practice accurately and promptly

Follows facility/client policies, procedures, and protocols consistently

Assists medical professionals with treatments, procedures, and tests across various patient care environments

Protects the client/patient by adhering to appropriate infection control measures, including universal precautions

Alerts the supervising nurse regarding any abnormal findings or conditions

Exhibits flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of all facilities

Performs additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Preferred one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant within the last three years

Graduation from a certified nursing assistant program with documentation as a certified nursing assistant per state requirements, including proof of active certification in good standing

Familiarity with medical terminology and clerical functions

Adheres to all relevant professional standards of practice

Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

Current CPR certification if applicable

TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (as per contract or state regulation)

Must fulfill all federal, state, and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training relevant to the job site

Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations

Ability to effectively communicate information to and from appropriate individuals (including supervisors, co-workers, clients) through strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

Computer proficiency is necessary

Must be at least 18 years of age
