Aquatic Biologist

Aquatic Control Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatic Biologist to join our team in Seymour, Indiana. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the application of EPA registered aquatic herbicides and algaecides, installation and maintenance of aerators, fountains, and compressed air systems, aquatic plant surveys, writing vegetation management plans, performing fish surveys, and attending industry-related training events and conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply EPA registered aquatic herbicides and algaecides to control aquatic vegetation and algae
• Install and maintain aerators, fountains, and compressed air systems to improve water quality and circulation
• Conduct aquatic plant surveys to identify and monitor aquatic vegetation
• Develop and implement vegetation management plans to maintain healthy aquatic ecosystems
• Perform fish surveys to monitor fish populations and habitats
• Attend industry-related training events and conferences to stay up-to-date on best practices and new technologies

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in fisheries/aquatic science, agriculture, or a natural resources-related field
• Insurable driving record
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical
• Comfortable driving truck and boat trailer combination
• Basic mechanical ability (experience in outboard motor operation is a plus)
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment (physical labor required)
• Ability to work an average of 50-60 hours per week
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs
