Job Summary:

The Head Baker - Pastry Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bakery operations at James Coffee Co. This position requires a professional with a passion for food, pastry, and creating high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the bakery, ensuring efficient production and high-quality products.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve bakery operations, including menu development, inventory management, and staff training.
  • Lead and motivate a team of pastry professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure excellent performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of bakery operations with other areas of the business.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Monitor and control inventory, managing stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional baking experience, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Existing Food Handler's Certification or certification within 30 days post-hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely maneuver trays of food.
