About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Neurodiagnostic Technician Apprentice to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As a key member of our neurodiagnostic department, you will play a vital role in facilitating the workflow of the department and assisting technologists and physicians in providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in setting up patients for diagnostic studies, including EEG, EP, NCS, TCD, and IOM.
  • Measure and apply recording electrodes, ensuring accurate and precise results.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff to convey the purpose of the EEG and answer questions regarding the procedure.
  • Participate in tutoring, demonstrating, and mentoring other team members, providing direct technical supervision and indirect technical supervision to assistants and students.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting patient privacy and communicating in a clear and professional manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrollment in a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electro Neurodiagnostic (END) program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to work effectively through changing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
