Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Hospital Violence Intervention Specialist. In this role, you will provide direct services to individuals injured through or exposed to violence, extending the psychosocial support services of the Center for Hope Violence Intervention Programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide education, advocacy, and services coordination to individuals in need.
  • Collaborate with the MONSE Safe Streets Program, PAAVE, and other Center for Hope Programs to extend support services.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of local resources and system navigation.
  • Build community capacity through advocacy and outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate care and promote healthy behavior change through teaching and support.
  • Utilize health information technology to bridge needs and identify resources.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and on-call response, in the hospital and in the community.
Requirements:
  • Entry-level knowledge and basic employment skills.
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or High School Certificate.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in crisis intervention resolution.
  • Personal knowledge of communities and populations with high rates of exposure to violence.
  • Cultural competency and ability to present as a credible messenger.
