We are seeking a skilled Switchboard Attendant to join our team at DCH Health System. As a Switchboard Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff by answering calls, providing information, and connecting callers to the appropriate personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Answer calls in a timely and caring manner, connecting callers to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide patient information in accordance with hospital policy, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain up-to-date lists and files on telephone numbers, beeper numbers, and call lists.
- Monitor the fire alarm system and initiate Code Red procedures as needed.
- Responsible for initiating emergency notifications during codes, following established protocols.
- Maintain performance, patient satisfaction, and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
- Perform compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Adhere to DCH Behavioral Standards, including creating positive relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and self.
- Use electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet as required.
- Adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
We are looking for a high school graduate or equivalent with good clerical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deal with the public in a friendly and courteous manner. You must be able to learn how to operate a telephone and computer, read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
