Key Responsibilities
As a Launch Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing Launch Teams to ensure effective project execution.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to review launch plans, focusing on labor, floor space, workflow, and layout.
  • Engaging with planning and design personnel to optimize product design and tooling for efficient production.
  • Assessing vendor specifications and equipment purchase plans in conjunction with process engineers and launch teams.
  • Providing technical support to management and engineering during analysis and planning phases.
  • Assigning project personnel to various project phases, including technical studies and process design.
  • Reviewing product designs for adherence to engineering principles and company standards.
  • Evaluating and approving design modifications, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Managing project expenditures within budgetary constraints.
  • Preparing interim and final project reports.
  • Enhancing manufacturing methods through evaluation and improvement.
  • Overseeing projects in accordance with company NPIS, APQP, and customer requirements.
  • Soliciting quotations, selecting suppliers, and facilitating the approval of equipment and tooling.
  • Leading the NPIS/engineering change team at the plant level, managing all aspects of engineering changes and new product launches.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, with three to five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of tubular steel manufacturing and fabrication processes, including resistance welding.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to work with probabilities and statistical inference.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating team activities.
  • Proficiency in program management and project launch processes.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Prior experience in the automotive sector is preferred.
  • The ability to analyze complex technical instructions and data.
  • Competence in writing reports and business correspondence.
  • Effective presentation skills to communicate with managers, clients, and the public.
