Responsibilities

Virginia Mason MOHS Surgery is seeking a certified Medical Assistant. You will assist providers and other members of the healthcare team in the clinic by performing a variety of back office and patient-related tasks and ensuring smooth patient and workflow within the department.

You will also perform a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice. These procedures may include but are not limited to:

  • injections
  • EKGs
  • ear lavage and blood draws
  • measuring patient vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, and temperature)
  • managing rooming and patient flow including pre-visit preparation, assisting with the patient visit, and post-visit duties

You will inform providers of schedule changes that impact patient flow, assist with front office activities and varied scheduling tasks and report test results as directed by the provider.

As a Medical Assistant at Virginia Mason, you will contribute to the strength of our Team Medicine approach to collaborative medicine and benefit from the changes enacted through our Virginia Mason Production System, a model that has transformed healthcare by providing patients with easier access to care, reducing errors, and continuously innovating patient safety and quality that has been adopted by other organizations here and abroad.

Qualifications

We require:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical Assistant Certified
  • Maintain active CPR
  • At least 1 year of experience as a practicing medical assistant in a dermatology or MOHS clinic/setting, or LPN with procedural skills and demonstrated competency of skills
  • Completion of the Association of Certified Dermatology Technicians (ACDT) program within 1 year of employment
  • Current Association of Certified Dermatology Technicians (ACDT) credential preferred
  • An AA degree is preferred

Pay Range: $36.79/hour
