Job Summary

The Municipality of Anchorage, AK is seeking a highly qualified Library Director to lead our public library system. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating all aspects of library operations, including personnel management, financial management, and community relations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve library services and programs
  • Oversee personnel management, including recruitment, training, and evaluation of library staff
  • Manage library finances, including budget development and administration
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Represent the library at local, state, and national levels
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited program
  • At least 10 years of professional library experience, including 5 years of management experience
  • Proven track record of successful library management and community engagement
