Clean Harbors is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our state-of-the-art facility in Kingston, MA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of mechanics, welders, and painters, ensuring the efficient production of asset refurbishment services.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Train Team Members: Lead and mentor a team of maintenance personnel, including registered apprentices, to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Manage Production Operations: Oversee the assembly, rebuilding, painting, and manufacturing of equipment and vehicles, including PTOs, vacuum pumps, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Ensure Quality and Safety: Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and identify and report any hazards or near misses.
- Monitor Performance and Productivity: Review time and materials entered into electronic work order systems, and ensure repair times are met and assets are manufactured within scheduled timelines.
- Develop and Implement Processes: Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- 3-5 Years of Supervisory Experience: Proven experience in supervising a team of employees in a tank truck, heavy equipment, or truck fleet shop environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems, as well as experience with HM183 cargo tank inspections and production line assembly.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in using web-based software and vehicle diagnostic systems.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team and communicate complex information to stakeholders.
