Role Overview
As the Engineering Manager for Core Experience, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience for Tinder's Profile and Post-Match functionalities. You will lead a dedicated team of Android engineers, focusing on developing essential features that enhance user interaction. This position offers the chance to influence the app's foundational elements, ensuring a seamless experience for millions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide a team of Android engineers in creating impactful consumer-facing features that enhance the Tinder experience.
- Establish and oversee platform goals and metrics, crafting a strategic roadmap for your team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement the roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Facilitate technical and design discussions to define project requirements and scope.
- Set the technical vision for the team and drive its execution.
- Mentor and support team members in their professional growth.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in developing native Android applications.
- At least 2 years of experience in managing mobile engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin, with a solid understanding of advanced programming concepts.
- Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVVM, VIPER, MVI, and RIBs.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams to develop and launch large-scale mobile applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
- A talent for inspiring and motivating team members to achieve excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in both Android and iOS development.
- Background in developing consumer applications with frequent updates.
- Knowledge of modern build tools and CI/CD processes.
- Familiarity with contemporary UI frameworks.
- Experience in working with legacy code and implementing improvements.
- Ability to propose and implement solutions that enhance productivity.
- Experience working within a small team in a cross-functional environment.
