Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting oral health in our community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine hygiene treatment for children and adults, including dental prophylaxis, oral screenings, and topical fluoride applications.
  • Examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease, such as gingivitis.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide preventive care, including taking x-rays and applying fluoride or sealants.
  • Keep clear clinical documentation in patient files regarding services provided.
  • Help patients develop and maintain good oral health by explaining the relationship between diet and oral health, and demonstrating proper brushing and flossing techniques.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene Program.
  • 1-2 years' experience as a dental hygienist; Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Current Massachusetts state license to practice as a dental hygienist.
  • Knowledge of the modern principles, practices, and techniques of dental hygiene.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
