Overview:

MasTec Civil, LLC is a leading heavy highway contractor specializing in complex transportation projects. We are seeking a Senior Estimator to assist in the growth of our Tennessee market.

This individual should have at least 10 years of estimating experience and 3 years of field experience in Heavy Civil Construction, specifically with roadways and bridges. Knowledge of contract delivery methods and experience working with government agencies, such as TNDOT/Turnpike, cities/counties, port authority, and Franklin, TN Water Management District, is essential.

The ideal candidate will be able to work remotely but will be required to travel to Nashville, TN when bids are due. A strong understanding of unit cost analysis, construction technologies, and techniques is also necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study and review all estimating reports
  • Full review of bid submittal package and lead estimating discussion with company executives
  • Coordinate and invite suppliers and subcontractors to quote different scope of work
  • Analyze suppliers and subcontractor pricing input when required
  • Buildelementary relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Complete understanding of unit cost analyzes
  • Maintain continue education in construction

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of estimating experience and 3 years of field experience in Heavy Civil Construction
  • Knowledge of contract delivery methods and government agencies
  • Strong understanding of unit cost analysis, construction technologies, and techniques
  • Savvy in Tennessee soil (rock/limestone), foundations, concrete structures, temporary structural systems, underground and utility work, earthwork, signalization, roadway lighting and signing, intelligent transportation system, safety standards, etc.
  • Software skills: ~30-Hour OSHA training, Microsoft Office, Scheduling software, P6 Primavera, Vista Accounting software, AutoCAD- Civil 3D
