Position Summary:
OTS is in search of a Security Control Assessor to deliver cybersecurity support to AFCENT. This role involves conducting thorough assessments of IT security controls on various systems and software applications.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Security Control Assessor, your duties will include:
- Conducting initial and ongoing security control assessments for AFCENT networks and systems.
- Utilizing DOD-approved tools such as ACAS, Nessus, and SolarWinds to produce monitoring reports.
- Generating comprehensive reports to assist in risk management decisions.
- Evaluating the severity of vulnerabilities and proposing corrective measures.
- Reviewing the System Security Plan (SSP) to ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Advising Information System Owners on the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
- Assessing threats and vulnerabilities to recommend additional security measures.
- Assisting in the creation and approval of security assessment plans.
- Ensuring security assessments are thorough and effective in protecting IT resources.
- Preparing final Security Assessment Reports (SAR) summarizing assessment findings.
- Collaborating with the Information System Security Officer to initiate action plans based on assessment results.
- Providing expert guidance on vulnerability assessments and security authorization documentation.
- Utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) methodology to safeguard information assets.
- Delivering insights to enhance security training and policies based on assessment outcomes.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Proof of IAT-III or IAM-III Certification.
Preferred Experience:
For senior positions (III and above):
- MA/MS in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; or
- BS in a related field with 5+ years of relevant IT experience; or
- 7+ years of relevant IT experience.
For mid-level (II) or lower positions:
- BS in a related field with 1+ years of relevant experience; or
- Associates in a related field with 3+ years of relevant IT experience; or
- 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
