Job Summary

KOSA-CBS7 in Odessa-Midland, TX seeks a Broadcasting Technical, IT, or Operations professional with a great attitude and willingness to learn. You'll join the CBS7/Telemundo 20 engineering staff, providing technical support for equipment and staff in a broadcast and streaming environment. A solid IT background is desirable, and applicants should have experience or a genuine interest in learning RF and other broadcast-specific skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide desktop client support for local and remote employees
  • Build and manage Windows desktops and laptops
  • Build and manage Windows servers, file shares, backups, and disaster recovery plans
  • Manage local Active Directory user accounts, passwords, and access to local resources
  • Set up work areas, including docking stations, monitors, and printers
  • Install and support Microsoft Office and other client applications
  • Work with Corporate IT to support local employees' use of company applications
  • Maintain and manage station IP data network
  • Work with Corporate IT to administer, install, and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers and firewalls
  • Work with broadcast engineers and newsroom to support all broadcast automation systems
Requirements
  • Good people skills to work with all departments in the station
  • Knowledge of equipment, IT technology, systems, and ability to assist in breaking news situations and emergencies
  • Knowledge of the latest operating systems, software, including automation, server, and desktop operating systems
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft operating system, LAN layout, and maintenance, as well as knowledge of data switches, routers, and storage devices
  • Ability to lift control room rack equipment weighing 25-50 pounds with assistance
  • Team player with self-starting abilities to work alone
  • Capable of working odd hours, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and being on-call for after-hours support
  • Clean driving record
