Position Summary
We are looking for a Medical Family Therapist to become part of the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program. In this role, you will provide therapeutic services to adult cancer patients and their families, addressing the emotional challenges associated with cancer and its impact on relationships. You will also facilitate virtual support groups for both patients and caregivers, contributing to their overall well-being.
Key Duties
- Deliver medical family therapy services to patients and their families
- Create and execute treatment plans that integrate mental, behavioral, and physical health considerations
- Conduct individual, couple, family, and group therapy sessions
- Provide in-patient consultations for psychological or behavioral issues
- Oversee therapy interns and mentor staff members
- Design and implement group therapy sessions for patients and their families
- Engage in community outreach initiatives and interdisciplinary teamwork
- Maintain comprehensive medical records and facilitate appropriate referrals
Education: Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
Experience: No additional experience required beyond educational qualifications
Certifications: Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Associate (LMFTA)
