Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain the highest standards of rehabilitation services in accordance with our facility's mission and goals.
- Provide courteous and respectful care to all patients, prioritizing their needs and comfort.
- Deliver quality therapy services, including treatment interventions, program implementation, discharge planning, and related documentation and communication under the direction of a physical therapist.
- Prioritize and maintain a work schedule that aligns with the facility's needs and employment requirements.
- Collaborate with therapy management staff to foster positive working relationships with facility staff.
- Adhere to policies and procedures essential for day-to-day operations of the rehab department.
- Screen patients to determine evaluation needs under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Treat patients to alleviate pain and develop or restore function, achieving maximum performance under the guidance of a physical therapist.
- Monitor patient response to intervention, communicate any changes, and follow through with updates to treatment modalities, goals, and frequency as needed under the direction of a physical therapist.
- Fulfill documentation requirements in a complete, timely, and accurate manner.
- Communicate and collaborate with other team members regarding client care.
- Assist with data collection on patient progress under the supervising PT.
- Plan for patient discharge when maximum benefits have been met in coordination with the supervising PT.
- Provide complete and correct billing summaries as required.
- Attend in-service education sessions provided to rehab staff.
- Maintain a neat and organized therapy department.
- Perform administrative tasks to support therapy services.
- Identify new rehab admissions and notify the physical therapist as necessary.
- Communicate upcoming patient discharges with facility staff as required.
- Attend care plan meetings as requested.
- Provide other job-related tasks and duties as assigned.
