Plasma Center Nurse

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure that all medical and operational procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility through proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interviews and physical examinations to ensure donor safety.
- Review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results and other laboratory test results to determine donor eligibility.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when necessary for guidance on medical or technical issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current licensure or certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
