Job Summary

The Terrain Park Cat Operator is a key member of the Dodge Ridge team responsible for the construction and grooming of the Terrain Parks to provide the best skiing/snowboarding surface possible for our guests. This position requires an extremely detail-oriented, experienced, safety-conscious, and responsible candidate who can operate equipment in all weather conditions and maintain a neat and orderly workspace.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate snow cats and other equipment to groom the snow on the mountain according to proper procedures and with the proper implements.
  2. Perform all duties and responsibilities with a "safety first" attitude when running all machinery and complete all tasks with the proper knowledge and use of safety equipment.
  3. Provide feedback for Vehicle Maintenance Dept. about equipment and maintain a working knowledge of emergency plans.
  4. Shovel snow, sometimes deep, heavy wet snow weighing more than 50 lbs. per shovel full, and lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
  5. Provide timely and accurate information concerning park conditions and their open and closed status.
  6. Assist the grooming department on an as-needed and as-available basis.

Requirements
  1. Ability to safely operate equipment in all weather conditions.
  2. Knowledge of basic hydraulic systems.
  3. Ability to write legibly and to use good composition skills to complete maintenance records.
  4. Good manual and physical dexterity.
  5. Ability to learn park locations and grooming patterns.
  6. Ability to learn Dodge Ridge Safety Plan.
  7. Able to work in tight spaces such as in and around snow grooming equipment.
  8. Ability to learn and be knowledgeable of the needs of the equipment and standard procedures for its care and safe operation.
  9. Safe operation of snow cats.
  10. Ability to lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
  11. Ability to set goals and see them through to their completion.
  12. Ability to work well with others and to work independently.
  13. Knowledge of safe and responsible tool usage and techniques.
  14. Knowledge of proper and responsible radio usage.
  15. Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the Motor Vehicle Record qualifications as outlined in the Fleet Safety Program.
