Position Overview
Under the guidance of nursing leadership at the hospital, this role encompasses the management of a significant function, service, or process that supports nursing operations through subordinate staff. The responsibilities may extend to overseeing multiple smaller nursing units within the department, reporting to higher-level directors.
- This managerial position typically involves oversight of less than 50 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff across various nursing units or a primary operational support function.
- Direct reports may include clinical managers and other high-level professional or administrative personnel.
- The Manager of Patient Services is accountable for planning, implementing, and evaluating processes related to performance enhancement, staffing efficiency, financial management, staff competency, and customer service outcomes in collaboration with senior leadership.
- It is essential to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, facilitating communication and monitoring of these requirements. Collaboration with healthcare team members is crucial for planning and evaluating departmental and hospital objectives.
- The role involves identifying the need for policy development or revision, defining these policies in conjunction with higher management and departmental goals.
- Responsibilities also include overseeing the creation and modification of departmental procedures, securing necessary approvals.
- Performance metrics and goals for assigned areas must be developed, monitored, and adjusted as needed.
- Assistance in long-term goal development and budget monitoring for designated areas is expected, along with modeling excellence in customer service.

Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. If a Master’s degree is held, either the Bachelor’s or Master’s must be in Nursing.
2. Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan.
3. A minimum of three years of progressive nursing experience is required.
