Job Summary

The Pediatric Gastroenterologist is responsible for providing high-quality medical services to patients of Prisma Health-University Medical Group. This includes diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders in children, as well as providing education and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat gastrointestinal disorders in children, including conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease and gastroesophageal reflux disease.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, including information on diet, nutrition, and lifestyle changes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, dietitians, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements in the field of pediatric gastroenterology.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Completion of a pediatric gastroenterology fellowship program.
  • Board certification in pediatric gastroenterology.
  • South Carolina medical license.
  • South Carolina controlled substance license.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency number.
