Fleet Mechanic Job Description

TruGreen Limited Partnership is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing fleet vehicle chassis and specialized vehicle back-end tank, pump, and spray systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair tractors, forklifts, small engines, and specialized equipment (aerators, seeders, spreaders, etc.)
  • Accurately document all repairs in an electronic maintenance management system
  • Maintain parts inventory and work area in clean and orderly fashion
  • Arrange, follow up, and document outsourced maintenance performed by vendors and local service providers
  • Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budget
  • Respond to vehicle and equipment breakdowns in the field as needed/required
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-4 years automotive mechanic experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer, etc)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Mathematical skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance

Pay Ranges: $40,093.00 - $72,166.00

This range is based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate's skills, experience, and geographic location, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed.

Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive experience.

An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law.

In addition to monetary compensation, we offer benefits, including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance and Company-matching 401(k) in addition to other programs and perks.
