Sign-On Bonus: Available
Call Requirements: Call is required, with compensation of $2.50/hour for pager duty and time and a half if called in.
Shift Differentials:
- Weekday: Monday 6am - Friday 6pm
- Night Shift: $4.00/hr (6:00pm-6:00am)
- Weekend: Friday 6pm - Monday 6am
- Day Shift: $4.00/hr (6:00am-6:00pm)
- Night Shift: $5.00/hr (6:00pm-6:00am)
Role Summary:
The Critical Care Float Pool RN is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, adhering to the established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, and assess patient care requirements.
- Implement physician orders effectively.
- Administer medications, manage dressings, and monitor vital signs.
- Provide respiratory care and ventilator management for patients.
- Act as the primary coordinator for multidisciplinary patient care.
- Document and communicate patient conditions using computerized systems.
- Educate patients and their families on care processes.
- Coordinate discharge planning with healthcare team members.
- Deliver culturally competent care across various age groups.
- Mentor and orient new nursing staff.
- Adhere to Standard Precautions and utilize personal protective equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:
- BSN preferred; ASN acceptable if enrolled in a BSN program.
- Active RN license in the State of Colorado.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care hospital critical care experience.
- Current certifications required: BCLS/ACLS upon hire; NIHSS within 90 days; CCRN preferred.
- Successful completion of Critical Care Test/Rhythm interpretation examination.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical capability to perform tasks involving frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting patients or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to multitask with minimal supervision.
- Advanced knowledge of critical care settings, with the ability to float to various units including ICU, Trauma, CVICU, Burn Unit, Neuro Surgical ICU, and MICU.
