Job Summary

The Ambulatory Pharmacist is responsible for optimizing patient care outcomes through interdisciplinary medication management. This role involves interpreting prescriptions, preparing, dispensing, and monitoring medications used in a community pharmacy. The pharmacist will sustain an environment for the safe, rational, effective, and efficient use of medications prescribed to patients of all age groups. Pharmacists are responsible for the direct supervision of pharmacy technicians. All job duties shall be performed in accordance with all applicable Florida and Federal laws, regulatory agency standards, professional practice standards, and policies and procedures of the health system/pharmacy department.

Key Responsibilities

* Interpret prescriptions and prepare, dispense, and monitor medications used in a community pharmacy
* Sustain an environment for the safe, rational, effective, and efficient use of medications prescribed to patients of all age groups
* Directly supervise pharmacy technicians
* Perform all job duties in accordance with applicable laws, regulatory agency standards, professional practice standards, and policies and procedures of the health system/pharmacy department

Requirements

* PharmD required or BS Pharmacy degree with equivalent and acceptable experience from a College of Pharmacy accredited by American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)
* Five years of professionally responsible pharmacist experience required for Bachelors degree holders
* One year of recent ambulatory experience as a pharmacist or pharmacy intern for PharmD candidates
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, data entry skills, analytical and math skills required
