Department Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Department Manager to join our team at Runnings. As a Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Clothing department and ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and coordinate the merchandising of assigned products, including setting priorities for distribution of new merchandise.
  • Ensure adequate inventory in all areas of the assigned department and assist customers with purchases.
  • Work closely with Retail Buyers to ensure awareness of assigned department product needs and other product information.
  • Assist with the training and direction provided to new department team members and maintain a clean and organized department.
  • Ensure that safety is practiced when handling merchandise by employees and customers.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Customer Service training and/or experience preferred.
  • Ability to work an irregular schedule, including days, nights, and every other weekend.
  • Excellent customer service skills required.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and long periods of standing.

Retail Store Environment.
