Hospice and Palliative Care Physician Assistant Position Overview
Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration invites applications for a challenging and rewarding Physician Assistant role in Hospice and Palliative Care. This part-time position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with experienced healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- Evaluate and manage patients with complex medical conditions in hospice and palliative care settings
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare teams
- Provide expert patient care, including performing histories and physicals, and formulating treatment plans
- Work closely with colleagues, including RNs, MDs, and social workers, to ensure seamless patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Master's degree in a healthcare field or bachelor's degree with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Unrestricted licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment
Salary and Benefits
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $83,000 - $123,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This includes a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
