Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Part Time Cook to join our culinary team at Forefront Healthcare & Culinary Services. As a Part Time Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and portioning standards.
  • Monitor and maintain food temperatures to ensure quality and safety.
  • Supervise and assist in storage of supplies and food products.
  • Notify the Director of Culinary of food, supplies, or equipment needs.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of cooking experience, preferably in batch cooking, family-style restaurants, or short order.
  • Minimum of 1 year of food service experience in a healthcare dietary setting.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow recipe directions, diet orders, and work assignments.
  • Able and willing to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent education.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Preference given to persons with an education in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets.

Physical Demands

The Part Time Cook will stand and walk intermittently throughout the working day, as well as reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry, and manipulate various food products, dietary supplies, and equipment. The ability to work with chemicals/cleaning agents and lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds is required.

Additional Information

Varied Shifts: Every other weekend

Hourly Wage: $17.00-$19.00 an hour
