LPN - Adult Respiratory/Med Surg (Nights) Position

This position is a member of the direct care healthcare team and is responsible for providing care to patients and families under the direction of the registered nurse. The LPN will perform general nursing care within the scope of practice, assist with the preparation of equipment, and assist the clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. The LPN will also collect assessment data, prepare patients for examination, and document clinical information on patient records. Additionally, the LPN will order diagnostic tests as directed by the clinical provider and gather diagnostic tests and/or examine results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment. The LPN will also schedule procedures and obtain authorizations, as necessary, under the direction/oversite of the registered nurse.
Responsibilities:
• Performs general nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and assists the clinical provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
• Collects assessment data, prepares patients for examination, and documents clinical information on patient records.
• Orders diagnostic tests as directed by the clinical provider and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
• Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations, as necessary, under the direction/oversite of the registered nurse.
Qualifications:
• High School/GED
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1 year in healthcare
• PALS or ACLS
• State approved IV course certification
• Knowledge of EPIC documentation and assessment process
