Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program in the Region, ensuring effective and efficient operations. The successful candidate will assess and document participants' nutrition risk, prescribe food packages, and provide one-on-one and group nutrition education, including breastfeeding promotion and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of participants' nutrition risk and food package prescriptions
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition education plans for participants
  • Collaborate with other organizations within the community to provide comprehensive services
  • Assist families in developing healthy eating goals and provide ongoing nutrition education
  • Perform clerical duties, including data entry, word processing, and other computer software applications
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a social, community, health, education, or nutritional field
  • Three years of experience in nutrition education, program management, or a related field
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Valid driver's license and Defensive Driving Course Certification
Working Conditions

This position requires working in an office setting with extensive computer and phone usage. Extended periods of driving and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be required. Potential exposure to communicable diseases and moderate office noise, heat, cold, and smells may also be present.
