Area Sales Manager

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving business growth through proactive sales, marketing, and solicitation efforts for assigned properties. This role requires a strong understanding of the hospitality industry and the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed budgeted RevPAR goals for assigned properties
- Accurately forecast revenues for the following month
- Analyze short-term fluctuations and direct selling activities to maximize revenues
- Prepare sales and/or marketing plans for the following year
- Ensure front desk agents are familiar with all sales programs and key accounts at each property
- Produce sales department reports in a timely manner
- Identify revenue opportunities and work to secure business from them
- Demonstrate commitment to superior guest service through personal response to guest needs
- Conduct site visits, coordinating with all departments for show rooms
- Interact with outside contacts, including guests, owners, vendors, and regulatory agencies
Requirements:
- Minimum two years sales experience in hospitality or two years of progressive experience in a hotel environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar computer applications
- Preferred experience and education: two years prior hotel sales or catering manager experience, high-school diploma or GED, and experience with Delphi FDC or Sales Pro
Travel and Physical Demands:
- Up to 50% travel requirement and travel between properties as needed
- Frequent sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities
- Occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds
Other:
- Must speak English fluently
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Mathematical skills include basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances
