Pharmacy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation and dispensing of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and dispense medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems and compounding equipment.
- Assist pharmacists with clinical tasks, such as medication therapy management and patient counseling.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve medication-related issues and improve patient outcomes.
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or Pharmacy Technician Certified (ExCPT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting, with a focus on specialized areas such as sterile compounding or automation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift, and move equipment as needed. The pharmacy environment can be fast-paced and dynamic, with exposure to chemical and hazardous waste, as well as blood and body fluids.
