Phillips Distilling Company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Millwright to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging process by researching, designing, building, installing, and setting up machine equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Install and set up new equipment, including moving and assembling machinery.
- Design and fabricate custom parts to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Perform equipment changes and modifications, replace defective parts, and adjust components to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain piping and pumps throughout the plant, completing part replacements and repairs when needed.
- Research, design, and fabricate equipment, including steps, working platforms, and walkways, from concept to production.
- Complete process documentation for equipment setup and modifications.
- Assist in evaluating new products, determining the appropriate setup for bottles, labels, and packaging.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend equipment enhancements to management.
- Collaborate with management to select solutions that align with key objectives and implement agreed-upon improvements promptly and efficiently.
- Technical degree in the mechanical technology field.
- 2-5 years of related experience, including fabrication or machining.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced packaging environment.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles essential for producing precision plans or parts.
- Ability to instruct others, communicate clearly and effectively, and coordinate activities with team members.
This position works on-site at our Princeton location. The work environment is a manufacturing setting (maintenance shop and production floor) with regular standing on hard surfaces for extended periods. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required. Fine motor skills are necessary for precise tasks such as welding, using hand tools, fabricating parts, and typing on a keyboard.
