Job Description: As a Medical Instrument Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining patient safety by ensuring that all medical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, decontaminated, sterilized, and ready for use.

  • Instrument Processing: Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment using approved sterilization methods.">
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Follow infection prevention and control standards, ensuring all equipment meets sterilization standards and clinic-specific protocols.">
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and perform basic maintenance on sterilization equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.">
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment tests, and inventory of supplies.">
  • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with clinic staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments and address immediate needs.">
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and restock sterilization supplies, reporting shortages to the supervisor.">

Required Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in Central Sterile Processing (e.g., CBSPD or IAHCSMM) preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare sterilization or processing role is an advantage.
