We are seeking a skilled Radiology Tech Residency to join our team in Temple, Texas.

About the Role
  • This is an ongoing opportunity to work as a Radiology Tech Residency for 40 hours per week with an 8-hour shift, days only.
  • As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting technologists and nurses in the performance of radiology exams and delegated medical procedures under the direct supervision of physicians.
Responsibilities
  1. Prepare patients for exams or procedures and assist technologists, nurses, or physicians as needed.
  2. Maintain patient and staff confidentiality at all times.
  3. Gather patient information and verify identification using two forms of ID as outlined in hospital policies.
  4. Operate and maintain equipment safely and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  5. Maintain a clean and serviceable work environment to enhance patient care.
  6. Maintain an adequate inventory of equipment and supplies for assigned areas and place general and special supply orders from purchasing in a timely manner.
  7. Thoroughly clean rooms to make them ready for the next patient and recommend terminal cleaning to address patient infection control standards.
  8. Wear personal monitoring devices on collars outside of aprons consistently and submit them promptly and regularly for assessment of occupational dosage.
  9. Report any loss, damage, or unusual events associated with personal monitoring devices immediately to the Radiation Safety Office.
  10. Diligently observe patients, recognize changes in condition, and seek appropriate assistance.
  11. Verify requisitions/charts for valid written orders, priority, date, ordering comments, physician's notes, use time-out processes for invasive procedures, precautions, and patient consent forms.
  12. Ensure records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling.
  13. Screen individuals before allowing them to enter the department according to approved policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Able to explain procedures and put patients at ease.
  • Able to provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Able to perform tasks independently without need for routine oversight.
  • Able to maintain a calm and helpful attitude even under stressful situations and take appropriate steps to resolve issues.
  • Able to administer first aid and use emergency carts effectively.
  • Able to ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction scores, and developing action plans when required.
  • Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, continued education, and skills appropriate for care of newborns, pediatric, young adults, adults, and geriatric patients.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree not required; High School Diploma/GED equivalent necessary.
  • No more than one year of experience required.
  • Certification/License/Registration requirements include Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Estimated salary range for this role is between $60,000-$70,000 annually based on local market conditions and industry standards.
