Pipe Layer Technician

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team at Wayne Brothers Companies. As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient pipe laying and labor skills to achieve daily assigned tasks and project objectives.

• Ensure a safe work environment by identifying and reporting potential hazards and near misses.
• Perform pipe fitting and labor tasks as necessary to complete daily assigned tasks.
• Assist the team with equipment maintenance, fueling, and greasing.
• Operate compactors and small equipment as needed to achieve daily goals.
• Set up pipe lasers, maintain grade, and connect fittings.
• Conduct utility testing for storm, sanitary sewer, and water systems.
• Provide traffic control and flagging services as required.
• Foster growth within the company by attending training and participating in mentorship programs.

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Good attitude and character.
• Ability to communicate verbally and through hand signals.
• Willingness to stop unsafe work or at-risk behaviors.
• Proficiency with hand excavation tools.
• Ability to install inlet protection and other erosion measures.
• Knowledge of utility testing requirements and pipe installation for water, storm, and sewer systems.

• Valid driver's license preferred.
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification required; training provided by Wayne Brothers.
• Confined space training.
• Excavation training.

• Lifting, carrying, or moving up to 90 pounds.
• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) on project sites.

• Reports to the Pipe Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or General Superintendent.
• Advancement opportunities include Operator Technician or Civil Technician.
