Key Responsibilities

  • Execute repairs and maintenance as specified in repair orders, ensuring efficiency and adherence to dealership standards.
  • Conduct test drives and utilize diagnostic tools to assess vehicle performance and identify issues.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors to inform customers about necessary additional services and provide time estimates for repairs.
  • Perform warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

  • GM Service Technician Certification is mandatory.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Basic computer proficiency is required.
  • A positive and friendly demeanor, coupled with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and repair procedures.
  • Capability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this role include:

  • Regularly standing, walking, using hands, and reaching with arms.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities, including close vision and depth perception.
  • Performing repetitive movements typical in the automotive industry.

Work Environment
In this role, you may encounter:

  • Moving mechanical parts and high places.
  • Fumes or airborne particles and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
  • Moderate noise levels.
