Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Barista Specialist to join our team at Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton - PSNS and IMF. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages, including espresso, coffee, and other specialty drinks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve made-to-order espresso and other beverages
• Order food items to be sold and ensure retail stock is replenished as needed
• Arrange items in an appealing marketing display for sale
• Operate cash register and prepare necessary documentation for cash funds accountability
• May assist in taking inventory and performing housekeeping tasks

Requirements:

• Understanding of basic food handling techniques
• Ability to follow oral instructions and perform routine manual tasks involving few steps
• Must use judgment in sequencing tasks and be able to concentrate on uniform individual portions and to avoid distraction when serving several people at a time
• Must have an understanding of personal hygiene standards and simple food handling techniques
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic and cash handling techniques
• Must have working knowledge and cleaning maintenance of the coffee machines
• Exercise tact, good manners and courtesy when serving and assisting both customers and employees

Working Conditions:

• Work involves moderate physical effort in frequently lifting or moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds
• Constant standing, bending, stooping and reaching

Security Clearance:

Successful completion of National Agency (NACI) background check is required. Must be a US citizen. Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate.
