Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze resident data to develop and implement nursing care plans, responding to emergency and specialized resident care situations.
- Assist staff personnel in developing professional skills and in selecting priorities for the delivery of nursing care, monitoring progress and assisting with unit reorganization as required.
- Coordinate activities of nursing staff with other personnel and services engaged in caring for residents, communicating with physicians and advising other services of conditions or circumstances affecting resident care.
- Supervise personnel actions, including merit recommendations, promotions, transfers, vacation schedules, sick leaves, and dismissals for employees of the unit.
- Evaluate nursing care with emphasis on medication administration, prescribed treatments, and patient responses, consulting with supervisory nurses in the establishment of short-term and long-range goals for patients.
- A valid LPN License is required for the state of VA.
