Are you a skilled commercial building maintenance professional looking for a new challenge? JLL is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Building Engineer in Wilmington, DE.

As a Building Engineer with JLL, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and proper operation of our multi-building system. You will perform minor repairs, operate, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on building systems as necessary. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, monitoring, and performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical equipment, including mechanical, electrical, cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing maintenance and monitoring repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards.
  • Maintaining responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.
  • Arranging for PM service visits, repairs, and documentation for Emergency Generators, Air compressors, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Kitchen Hood cleaning, cooling towers, and all other building operations.
  • Creating SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs to ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Performing assigned facility rounds and reporting on conditions impacting building appearance, satisfactory client occupancy, and operations.
  • Monitoring BMS systems, responding to alarms, and diagnosing to resolution.
  • Diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining plumbing components, including restroom fixtures, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps.
  • Diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining electrical components, including lamp replacement, ballast replacement, fixtures, motors, and basic wiring components.
  • Maintaining the condition of property equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels.
  • Recording readings and making adjustments where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Complying with departmental safety policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Monitoring the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
  • Responding, documenting, and closing out work orders through the CMMS system.
  • Interfacing professionally with property management personnel, vendors, and contractors, and performing vendor coordination and oversight.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in commercial building maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess a Universal CFC certification and a high school diploma or GED. An accredited trade school degree in HVAC, electronic, or other industry-related trade, or Union training and certification, is preferred.

This is a Monday-Friday position with on-call and overtime required. The hourly pay is competitive.
