The Massachusetts Veterans Home is a state-funded, fully accredited healthcare facility providing quality care to veterans. We offer residential accommodations and educational services for veterans in the Commonwealth. With a staff of approximately 330 personnel, we strive for excellence in care, adhering to Joint Commission and state/federal regulations.
This is an open and continuous posting for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) on our Evening and Night Shifts. As a member of our team, you will provide patient-driven care and support to our veteran population, following nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Massachusetts Veterans Home, your duties will include:
- Providing exceptional nursing care to veteran residents by assessing their health status, responding to call lights or requests for assistance, and making observations during rounds.
- Administering nursing treatments, procedures, doctor orders, and care plans; observing, identifying, and responding to the needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
- Identifying, evaluating, and assessing veteran health status; confer with supervising Registered Nurses (RNs) and assigned medical staff for treatment modalities.
- Recognizing urgent or emergency patient care situations; seeking assistance of the RN and/or medical staff and initiating appropriate emergency interventions as directed or needed.
