Position Overview:

This role is essential for managing the submission and tracking of insurance claims while keeping patients informed about their financial responsibilities.

The work adheres to NOMS policies and complies with relevant federal and state regulations. Successful execution of this role requires the ability to operate independently under general guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Timely processing of insurance and disability claims.2. Engaging with insurance providers to ensure accurate claim payments.3. Communicating with patients regarding outstanding balances and establishing payment arrangements as necessary.4. Upholding strict confidentiality concerning medical records and sensitive information.5. Participating in ongoing professional development to stay updated on healthcare practices and trends.6. Addressing patient inquiries related to account balances.7. Regular use of telephone communication.8. Compiling and delivering monthly summary reports to healthcare executives.9. Performing additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:
1. Familiarity with NOMS policies and procedures.2. Understanding of medical coding systems, terminology, and insurance protocols.3. Proven ability to input data accurately and efficiently into computer systems.4. Strong organizational skills to manage workload effectively.5. Demonstrated capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.6. Proficiency in relevant computer applications.7. Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.8. Willingness to take on additional responsibilities beyond routine tasks.9. Must exhibit teamwork and self-motivation.

Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in medical office billing is preferred. Proficient typing and computer skills are essential.2. At least one year of experience in medical billing is preferred.3. High school diploma or GED is required.4. RHIT certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Environment:
Office environment that is well-ventilated and adequately lit. The role involves frequent communication with patients via telephone. The work may be demanding at times, with constant interaction with others.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
Standard office setting. Tasks are generally performed at a desk or table using typical office equipment. May involve intermittent sitting, standing, and bending. Extended periods of viewing computer screens may be required. The role can be stressful at times, with ongoing interaction with colleagues and patients.
