Role Responsibilities and QualificationsClinical Laboratory Technologists play a crucial role in delivering precise and timely laboratory results to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating patients. Responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting all approved laboratory tests within your licensure areas, requiring a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge and technical skills.
- Exercising independent judgment with moderate supervision.
- Demonstrating proficiency in routine procedures, interpreting results, and managing workload efficiently to meet patient needs.
- Evaluating the acceptability of test results and seeking assistance from senior technologists when necessary.
- Documenting corrective actions for quality control deviations and adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
- Following best practices to ensure compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Performing daily maintenance to ensure high-quality test outcomes while managing supply inventory.
- Practicing infection control measures and maintaining a clean work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist by ASCP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field, including completion of a NAACLS accredited program.
- Previous experience in a hospital laboratory setting is preferred.
