About the Role

Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will work collaboratively with attending physicians, resident physicians, and fellow physicians to provide comprehensive patient care in accordance with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain detailed patient histories and perform physical examinations.
  • Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic procedures in accordance with relevant health concerns.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments.
  • Maintain accurate records and write orders and progress notes in patient charts.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records.
  • Provide follow-up health maintenance care to patients in accordance with established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and family members concerning patient care.
  • Collaborate with providers and practice staff to identify appropriate patients for care management.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Background working with children with chronic illness and knowledge of long-term medications and drug interactions (optional). Strong pediatric orthopedic experience.
  • Current license as a Physician Assistant by the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board. Specialty certification as required by department. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Current controlled substances certificate from the Drug Enforcement Administration.
