Adjunct Professor of Digital Media and Instructional Technology

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Associate Professor of Digital Media to join our faculty team at San Joaquin Delta College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching organized classes primarily in the area of Digital Media, as well as maintaining expertise in current teaching methods, discipline knowledge, and discipline-specific technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Instruct courses in Digital Media in accordance with credit course outlines approved by the Board of Trustees.
- Curriculum Development: Participate in the departmental process of curriculum review, modification, and the assessment of student learning outcomes to ensure program success.
- Student Support: Assist students in achieving stated course objectives, evaluate student progress, and provide counseling services and/or tutorial assistance as needed.
- Professional Development: Maintain expertise in current teaching methods, discipline knowledge, and discipline-specific technologies, and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills.
- Departmental and Campus-Wide Activities: Attend departmental, divisional, and campus-wide activities and events as required, and participate in the selection of textbooks, audiovisual, and other instructional materials.
- Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in any area plus minimum 2 years of professional experience in Digital Media Production, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Desirable Qualifications: Experience in teaching postsecondary courses in Digital Video and Audio production, experience using digital editing software for video and/or audio editing, and demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different levels of students' ability and learning styles.
The successful candidate will be placed on the Hourly Salary Schedule, with initial placement at step 5 (initial salary placement plus 4 years of teaching/relevant experience) of the appropriate class, as outlined in the SJCTA Union Contract.
