Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the Role:
The Hotel Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of various installations at Fairmont Dallas, including guest rooms, meeting rooms, and other areas of the hotel. This role requires flexibility in work shifts, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as stripping and refinishing guestroom furniture, and organizing materials, tools, and equipment to perform daily assignments.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction, and participate in the preventive maintenance program while maintaining timelines and work schedules.
- Become familiar with and understand all the systems associated with hotel operations, including electrical distribution and lighting, swimming pool, TV antenna, fire/life safety, and emergency generator.
- Check work orders and Engineering department service request logs for maintenance deficiency calls or problems, and make rounds checking these problem areas, noting any touch-up needs or safety concerns.
- Maintain par stock levels of supplies and communicate requisition needs, and carry out any other tasks assigned.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in general maintenance, ability to communicate in English, both verbal and non-verbal, and knowledge of tools and equipment respective to job functions.
- Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use, and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property.
- High School diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate, knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment/machinery, and complete basic arithmetic.
- Ability to exert physical effort in transporting miscellaneous items, endure various physical movements, and constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, pushing, and pulling.
