Job Summary:
The Associate Rigger is a key member of the Encore team, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of rigging activities in a Hospitality or convention center environment. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and quality standards, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities:Rigging:- Gather and Organize Rigging Tools and Equipment: Ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are readily available and organized for each event.
- Provide Ground Rigging Support: Assist teams in building points from lifts by staging motors and equipment under rig points, handing up motor chain, tools, and equipment, and spotting lift movements.
- Establish Hang-Points and Connect Hoist and Attachments: Set up hang-points, connect hoist and attachments to permanent rigging points, and ensure the safe connection of GAC Flex spanset attachments to truss.
- Run and Dress Motor Cables: Connect and run motor cables, ensure the proper use of all truss protection equipment, and inspect all cabling tie-offs.
- Final Safety Checks: Conduct thorough safety checks to ensure that all elements are securely fastened and checked for safety.
- Verify Safety of Elements: Ensure that all elements are securely fastened and checked for safety.
- Follow Manufacturer's Recommendations: Adhere to all manufacturer's recommendations and local conditions when using personnel lifts.
- Implement Encore Rigging and Safety SOP's: Learn and implement Encore's rigging and safety standard operating procedures.
- Provide Ongoing Visual Inspection: Conduct regular visual inspections of all hardware in use, including truss, motors, lighting, sound, projection, and personnel lifts.
- Escalate Any Problems: Report any issues with hardware to the supervisor.
- 0-1 Years of Exposure to Rigging and Technical Production: Previous experience in rigging and technical production is preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Rigging Day in Person Class: Successful completion of a rigging day in-person class is required.
- Lift Certification: Lift certification is required.
- Ability to Work at Heights: The ability to work comfortably at heights exceeding 15ft is essential.
- Hospitality: Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for clients and colleagues.
